IN-ROOTS Retreat – Building connections in doctoral research

14–15–16 May 2026
DETAILLs Living Lab – Pisa
Doing a PhD is not just about research. It’s also about navigating new environments, building relationships, and finding your place within academia.
The IN-ROOTS retreat is a three-day experience designed for doctoral researchers to connect, reflect, and share their journeys in an open and supportive space.
Together, participants will explore:
• intersectionality in academia
• challenges of international mobility
• ways to build inclusive and supportive research communities
The goal is to create a “glocal” network — where global perspectives meet strong local connections.
The initiative is funded by Circle U. and developed by Università di Pisa in collaboration with Université catholique de Louvain, University of Vienna, and DETAILLs Living Lab.
Who can apply: PhD students from Circle U. universities
(Master’s students and early-career researchers can also apply upon request)
Deadline: 24 April
Free participation | Limited spots (max. 25)
