The University of Pisa is launching a new interdisciplinary course on the intersection of artificial intelligence and sustainability, open to students from all departments. No prior experience in AI or sustainability is required—only curiosity and a willingness to explore.
The course will investigate how AI technologies, with a particular focus on Large Language Models, can be applied to promote environmental, social, and economic sustainability. Special attention will be given to ethical responsibility, inclusive innovation, and practical applications in real-world contexts.
Skills developed
- Critical thinking, creativity, and communication
- Use of AI tools to design sustainable solutions
The program will conclude with a collaborative final project, where student teams will work with partner organizations to address concrete sustainability challenges using AI.
