Real-World Challenges for a Sustainable Future

Organizations — including companies, startups, NGOs, associations, and foundations — are joining forces with the DETAILLs Project and the AI for Sustainability university course to bring real-world impact into the classroom.

How does it work?

Each partner organization proposes a current sustainability challenge linked to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Students in the AI for Sustainability course will analyze and address these challenges using the AI and design methods and tools learned during the course. Their proposed solutions will form the basis of their final exam project.

Why this matters

By working on real challenges from real organizations, students have the opportunity to apply and test their knowledge in a tangible context, gaining hands-on experience in using AI for social and environmental good. At the same time, this collaboration builds a bridge between academia and the professional world, fostering innovation, awareness, and shared value creation.
